Williamson County, TN Growth Management Plan
Spring 2023
Part of McBride Dale Clarion Internship
Williamson County, TN is a quickly growing county south of Nashville. To manage the rapid growth, each jurisdiction drew urban growth boundaries to guide development. The next step is to establish an intergovernmental agreement to manage implementation. I prepared maps and multiple presentations for planners and other stakeholders. Effective mapping was essential for identifying conflict areas (such as between Thompson’s Station and Spring Hill) and visualizing the how the jurisdictions’ expectations for growth have changed. This project exposed me to the complications and opportunities inherent to multijurisdictional planning processes.
